CCN Code of Conduct

Cognitive Computational Neuroscience is committed to the highest standards of integrity, responsible behavior, and ethical and professional conduct from both organizers and participants.

Policy

We are committed to providing a conference experience that is free from:

  • Harassment, bullying, and discrimination, which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, national origin, or political perspective.
    • Intimidation, personal attacks and/or public accusations of scientific misconduct aimed at colleagues, unnecessary disruption of talks or other presentations.
  • Inappropriate or unprofessional behavior that interferes with others’ conference experience and/or participation, including:
    • Sexual harassment, stalking, inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome attention, or derogatory language.
    • Imagery or language that are of a sexual, racist or otherwise offensive nature .
    • Disorderly or disruptive conduct towards participants.
  • Scientific misconduct including fabrication, falsification or plagiarism.

Professors and other (potential) employers are in particular positions of power and thus the following inappropriate actions towards trainees will not be tolerated:

  • Expressions of romantic or sexual interest.
  • Personal attacks and/or bullying.

Action

Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers. In extreme cases, we may also contact venue security, or local law enforcement.
